Olivine is a transparent to translucent mineral which forms in a distinct yellow greenish color. It often occurs as clusters of small grains. Olivine grains are rarely are pea-sized at the smallest. Olivine has no cleavage, but breaks with a fracture. If the quality is high enough, it can be cut and polished to be made as a gemstone.
